Facilitators play a vital role in our program. A team comprised of a trained mentor warrior and a clinician facilitates each Warrior Retreat. All facilitators participate in the same training and certification programs to provide the highest level of competency and excellence to implement The Warrior's Connection for small groups of veterans. Each five-day retreat uses the Nine Stations Integration Map and curriculum to chart this noble journey to connect the warrior with his heart.

The warrior, in order to participate in the facilitator training, must have successfully completed two prerequisites: 1) the five-day warrior retreat and 2) the mentor training. The warrior’s perspective and ability to share from direct experience is essential to create a bridge between the veteran and clinician—and to model authenticity.

The clinician, trained in specific modalities, will be incorporating new techniques learned during the facilitator training deepened by an immersion into the veteran culture as warriors and clinicians alike are invited to create and speak from their truth. TWC looks to the clinician to assess risk and take appropriate professional action, if required.

Trained mentor warriors support each facilitation team as participants, who are committed to their personal growth, comfortably engage in the expressive arts, share from their depth, and offer assistance as needed.

Finding New Ways to Serve

Mentor Training is a two-day training offered to veterans who have gone through the five-day the Warrior Retreat, have fearlessly faced their inner demons, and have willingly demonstrated their desire to model a courageous and honest stand to offer respect compassion and encouragement to each participant warrior.
