Imagine waking each day feeling only deep loss, grief, self-loathing, numbness, guilt, and shame. Living a life where holding those closest to you feels simply like going through the motions. Unable to succeed. No longer able to serve and make a difference. Feeling dead inside. A life where you see and hear yourself doing things you would’ve never done before… and you don’t know why, and you don’t care why... and you can’t stop. A life where you are powerless to change or “rise”. A life where you can’t connect to those you love, the things that once brought you pleasure, or to anything that feels like joy or passion. You feel only disturbed, distressed, and disconnected.

This is the ugly truth of post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) and in 2009, 30%-50% of all returning military personnel suffer with it.

The Warrior Connection (TWC) offers community-based programs providing free and confidential group retreats and trainings for strengthening and supporting returning combat veterans and their families. These services help heal the invisible wounds of war, reducing the symptoms of PTSD and decreasing the incidents of suicide, family violence, divorce, and isolation.

In addition to retreats for veterans from any military operation, TWC also offers retreats for family members and training programs for mentor warriors, clinicians, and sponsoring/funding organizations or individuals within communities.

RECURRING GIFTS:

A favorite way for many to support the ongoing needs of The Warrior Connection is to use PayPal to set up a one-time or recurring donation to The Warrior Connection—for any amount you choose! You just specify the amount, it’s frequency, and the number of times it recurs. You can even set it up one time or set it up to recur until you cancel it — with full control on your end! It’s secure, easy, and a beautiful way to make an ongoing impact.

MATCHING GIFTS:

Please let us know if your employer participates in a matching gift program. We’ll do the rest! It may double or triple the impact of your contribution. Not sure if your company has a matching gifts program? Check with your Community Relations or Human Resources representative.

Honor the memory of any veteran who has passed on. We will send a sympathy card acknowledging your donation to the family or individual you designate. Or, if someone you know having a special birthday, anniversary, or other milestone, pay tribute to them with a donation to The Warrior Connection. We send a card on your behalf acknowledging this invaluable gift from you.
